Hello Bloggers,
I would like to introduce myself to you all. My name is Debby, I am ?? years old (a woman never tells her age ha ha!) I would like to tell you all a little bit about me.
In March 2017, I started working for Apollo Care (West Wirral), my job title when I started was a community care assistant. I was looking for job satisfaction, fulfilment and contentment in my job role.
On my first day working for Apollo I was so nervous, I was wondering could I do the job, would I work well in a team, would my clients like me? Silly at my age I know, but I can honestly say I loved my work, my work colleagues supported me all the way.
My new clients made me feel so welcome and having support from the out of hours on call team 24/7 made me feel more secure.
Within seven months of me starting with Apollo, I decided to better myself and go further up the ladder. So, I applied for the position of senior care assistant when it was advertised. Again, I was nervous going for my interview with my manager Hannah White, but from the minute I walked into the office Hannah was great, making me feel so calm and relaxed while we had a chat about the position of senior carer. Hannah showed interest in my ideas and listened to what I had to say. At the end of my interview I walked out of the office as the new senior carer for Apollo. (One step up the ladder for me!)
I then decided with the support and encouragement of my manager to go in for my Level 3 diploma in health and social care. I must admit, I found it hard and tiring having to study around work hours but it worked out well in the end. I passed!
I now have my level 2 and level 3 qualification in health and social care and I am considering taking my level 4 and then my level 5. If it was not for all the support I got at Apollo, I don’t think I would have done it (one more step up the ladder I go!)
My manager has now asked me to help promote the business to gain more clients in Neston, Parkgate and Willaston helping Apollo to expand into new areas. I am also going to help find and interview new caring and committed staff for the new venture. It makes me so proud of myself, knowing that my manager Hannah has so much confidence in me to help expand Apollo.
Going into work gives me great pleasure knowing I am helping and supporting my clients every day. It makes me feel so good in myself whilst making their day that bit special, knowing they have someone they can talk to and trust. Listening to the laughter and seeing the smiles on their faces makes all my days special.
With all honesty, and I am not just saying this because I work here, but Apollo care is one fantastic firm to work for, they take great pride in all the care they provide for their clients. Also making sure all carers are of a high standard and fully trained. Like myself, the staff are given the chance to further their careers and encouraged to help and support clients and carers day and night.
Thanks bloggers for reading my first blog.
Sorry Hannah White, next step up the ladder for me is your chair in your office (Watch out Debby’s about!!)

What my manager says
“Debby has grown into her role so well at Apollo and she has so much potential it is a real pleasure to support her through her career progression. I could see from the day I met her that she could offer a lot to the clients and the business as well. Well done Debby!”
