The report is in from the CQC following Apollo Care South Liverpool’s recent inspection.
Father and daughter, Paul Williams and Diana Brady have been providing home care to the people of South Liverpool for just over twelve months and the CQC inspection was the perfect opportunity to see how they have been performing under the strict guidelines imposed in the industry.
We are proud to announce that Apollo Care South Liverpool achieved a ‘Good’ rating against all five standards and the feedback from staff, clients and our clients families are a pleasure to read.
Is Apollo Care South Liverpool Safe?
The CQC highlighted the fact that people felt safe with the support they received. The report quotes a relative who said “I have confidence in them. I feel like we’ve know them longer than we have. They make us feel at ease. If there is ever any concerns they give us a call, it’s very reassuring”.
They also praised the safe recruitment policy in place, the training process and the fact that the staff where aware of the policies and procedures to follow to keep people safe.
Is Apollo Care South Liverpool Effective?
The CQC questioned a number of staff, clients and clients families, once again highlighting the recruitment and training processes in place.
One of the staff is quoted as saying “I love my job” and another said they had been “really well supported”
Following initial induction, a staff member said “I received enough shadow time to make sure me and the person were comfortable, it wasn’t rushed”
Is Apollo Care South Liverpool Caring?
The CQC praised the fact that staff members are matched to the person being cared for. One client is quoted as saying “They don’t come into my home and quiz me. It’s my home and my dog, they make sure I have staff who like dogs”. Another said “They are absolutely brilliant, they are tip top. They do my hair and nails, they are like family. They do everything I need and more. They help with anything”.
A family member is quoted saying “To some people it’s just a job, but with these staff it’s genuine. They seem to make an effort to assist and it makes a difference.”
There was plenty more praise for Apollo Care South Liverpool being caring from relatives, staff and clients (too much for this blog!).
Is Apollo Care South Liverpool Responsive?
The CQC noted the quality of the care plans which were clear, individualised person centred and positive about what they were able to do.
They praised the fact that the care plans were regularly reviewed, involving family members and the person being cared for if they wished to.
It was noted on the report that Apollo Care South Liverpool had supported people to participate in the community and use local services.
Is Apollo Care South Liverpool Well-led?
The report says “People told us they knew and had met the registered manager on many occasions and had confidence in the leadership of the service”.
The CQC say they found the manager and the director to be open and candid and it was clear during the visits made that they had positive relationships with people cared for and their families.
Staff members were quoted as saying “The bosses are brilliant, they have been amazing” and “It’s a very friendly company to work for, they are really approachable”.
The CQC noted in the report the audits and checklists which were being used to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the service provided. They also noted that Apollo Care South Liverpool had the appropriate policies in place which were available to all staff members to check if needed.
